The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Wilson County in southeastern Kansas...
  Montgomery County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 759 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Elk City, or
  13 miles northeast of Sedan, moving northeast at 55 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Independence, Fredonia, Cherryvale, Elk City, Havana, Bolton,
  Sycamore, Buxton, Elk City Lake, Independence Airport, and Elk City
  State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for southeastern
Kansas.
