Synopsis for Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm-
355 AM EDT Sat Mar 23 2024

.SYNOPSIS...

Low pressure over the Deep South early this morning will
accelerate north-northeastward towards the Mid-Atlantic coast
this afternoon, with this storm system`s cold front pushing
southeastward across our local waters early this evening. Showers
and possibly a few thunderstorms are expected to traverse our
local waters this morning, with another round of potentially
stronger storms expected late this afternoon through early this
evening. Stronger storms later today will be capable of producing
strong wind gusts, lightning strikes, and small hail. Elevated
seas will continue today for the offshore waters. Northerly winds
will quickly strengthen this evening following the passage of the
cold front, accompanied by frequent Gale Force wind gusts that
will continue through Sunday morning for the near shore waters and
through Sunday afternoon offshore. Strong high pressure building
over eastern Canada and New England in the wake of this frontal
passage will wedge down the southeastern seaboard on Sunday and
Monday, resulting in breezy easterly winds and elevated seas.
Small Craft Advisory conditions will likely continue through
Tuesday or Wednesday due to elevated seas. High pressure will then
shift offshore by late Tuesday ahead of an approaching cold front,
which is expected to decelerate as it approaches our local waters
towards midweek.
