A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WAS BUILDING ACROSS WESTERN MINNESOTA
LATE THIS MORNING...WHILE THE AFFECTS FROM AN AUTUMN-LIKE STORM
SYSTEM CENTERED NEAR SOUTHERN JAMES BAY PERSISTED OVER THE
NORTHEAST. SKIES OVER MUCH OF MINNESOTA WERE SUNNY THIS
MORNING...WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ARROWHEAD WHERE MAINLY CLOUDY
SKIES CONTINUED. WINDS WERE GENERALLY FROM THE NORTHWEST BETWEEN 5
AND 12 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO 20 MPH REPORTED. AT 11 AM
TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE LOW 50S NORTHEAST...TO THE MIDDLE 60S
WEST AND SOUTH.

SKIES ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAR SLOWLY OVER NORTHEAST MINNESOTA THIS
AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THE RIDGE WILL BUILD EASTWARD AND IS
FORECAST TO STRETCH FROM NORTHWEST ONTARIO THROUGH NORTHERN IOWA
BY SUNRISE WEDNESDAY MORNING. WINDS WILL DIMINISH ACROSS THE STATE
OVERNIGHT ALLOWING FOR VERY COOL LOWS. A FEW LOCALES MAY NOTICE A
LITTLE FROST EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...MAINLY OVER NORTH-CENTRAL
AND NORTHEAST MINNESOTA INLAND FROM LAKE SUPERIOR. HIGHS THIS
AFTERNOON WILL REACH THE MIDDLE 50S NORTHEAST...AND THE LOW 70S
SOUTHWEST. LOWS TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER 30S AND LOW 40S
OVER NORTH-CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...TO THE UPPER 40S
SOUTHWEST.

ANOTHER DRY DAY IS EXPECTED FOR WEDNESDAY AS THE RIDGE AXIS
PASSES OVERHEAD. A WEAK UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE THROUGH
THE SOUTHERN CANADIAN PRAIRIES AND INTO NORTHWEST ONTARIO DURING
THE DAY...WHICH MAY RESULT IN PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES OVER WESTERN AND
NORTHERN MINNESOTA...WHILE THE REMAINDER OF THE STATE CAN EXPECT
SUNNY SKIES. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM TO NEAR NORMAL FOR ALL BUT FAR
NORTHEAST MINNESOTA WITH READING IN THE LOW 60S INLAND FROM LAKE
SUPERIOR...AND THE UPPER 70S SOUTHWEST.

QUIET CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF THURSDAY AHEAD OF AN
APPROACHING SYSTEM FOR THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. THERE IS A
CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE STATE LATE THURSDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY...WITH THE GREATEST CHANCE OF SEEING
RAINFALL OVER WESTERN AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA. TEMPERATURES WILL
CONTINUE TRENDING WARMER ON THURSDAY WITH SIMILAR READINGS
EXPECTED FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
