A BROAD RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WAS IN PLACE ACROSS THE EASTERN
HALF OF THE COUNTRY...RESULTING IN CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES ACROSS
MOST OF MINNESOTA LATE THIS MORNING. A LITTLE HAZE AND SMOKE FROM
CANADIAN WILDFIRES WAS FOUND OVER WESTERN MINNESOTA...AND A POCKET
OF LOW STRATUS WAS FOUND OVER CENTRAL MINNESOTA. WINDS WERE GENERALLY
SOUTHERLY ACROSS THE STATE AT 3 TO 9 MPH. AT 11 AM...TEMPERATURES
RANGED FROM THE MIDDLE 60S ALONG THE NORTH SHORE AND IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...TO
THE MIDDLE 70S WEST.

THE RIDGE WILL CONTINUE MOVING EASTWARD THIS AFTERNOON AND
OVERNIGHT. INCREASING MID-LEVEL MOISTURE WILL RESULT IN A FEW MORE
CLOUDS THIS AFTERNOON. DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED STATEWIDE.
TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON WILL REACH THE LOW 70S ALONG THE NORTH
SHORE...AND THE LOW 80S IN THE RED RIVER VALLEY. LOWS TONIGHT
WILL RANGE FROM THE LOW 50S NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR...TO THE LOW 60S IN
THE RED RIVER VALLEY.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN THE CANADIAN
PRAIRIES LATE TONIGHT AND MOVE TOWARD THE STATE ON FRIDAY...WITH A
COLD FRONT TRAILING SOUTH ACROSS THE DAKOTAS. AHEAD OF THIS WEAK
SYSTEM...HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN IN CONTROL DURING THE DAY.
SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES ARE EXPECTED THROUGH LATE
AFTERNOON...WITH CLOUDS BUILDING IN THE WEST BY EARLY EVENING AS
THE FRONT APPROACHES. AFTERNOON HIGHS WILL TREND SLIGHTLY
WARMER...TOPPING OUT IN THE MIDDLE 70S NORTHEAST...TO THE MIDDLE
80S NORTHWEST.
