WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MINNESOTA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DULUTH MN
1134 AM CDT THU APR 10 2014

EARLY MORNING SHOWERS PUSHED ACROSS SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AS THE COLD
FRONT EXITED THE STATE. A FEW CLOUDS BEHIND THE FRONT HAVE
LINGERED ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AS HIGH CLOUDS MOVE INTO
FAR NORTHERN MINNESOTA AHEAD OF THE NEXT INCOMING SYSTEM. LOWS THIS
MORNING STAYED IN THE 40S ACROSS SOUTHERN MINNESOTA... AND STAYED
ABOVE FREEZING ACROSS THE NORTH... WHICH ALLOWED SNOW PACK TO
CONTINUE TO MELT OVERNIGHT. DULUTH HAS LOST 17 INCHES OF SNOW PACK
IN THE LAST 6 DAYS... WITH ANOTHER 17 INCHES OF HEAVY... COMPACTED
SNOW TO GO. AS OF 11AM... TEMPERATURES HAVE ALREADY RISEN TO THE
40S ACROSS THE NORTH AND 50S ACROSS THE SOUTH.

IT WILL BE A WINDY DAY ACROSS MINNESOTA IN THE WAKE OF THE EXITING
COLD FRONT... WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH... AND UP TO 30 MPH NEAR THE
LAKE. TEMPERATURES WILL NOT BE AS WARM AS YESTERDAY... BUT WE WILL
STILL SEE SPRINGTIME NORMALS IN THE 50S AND 60S. EXPECT A PARTLY
SUNNY DAY WITH LOWS TONIGHT ABOVE FREEZING FOR MOST OF THE
STATE... AND A LITTLE COOLER ACROSS THE ARROWHEAD.

A MORE SIGNIFICANT FRONT AND WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE WILL
IMPACT THE UPPER MIDWEST FROM SATURDAY THROUGH MONDAY. FOR MN...LOOK
FOR BOUTS OF RAIN AND MILD TEMPERATURES SATURDAY...BEFORE THE
PASSAGE OF A STRONG COLD FRONT SATURDAY NIGHT SENDS TEMPERATURES
TUMBLING SUNDAY. ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES BY MONDAY WILL BE A GOOD 20
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL...MUCH OF THE PRECIPITATION WITH THIS SYSTEM
WILL REMAIN SOUTHEAST OF THE STATE SUNDAY AND MONDAY...WITH ONLY A
CHANCE FOR SOME RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ON MONDAY ACROSS THE NORTHERN
HALF OF THE STATE AS MOISTURE WRAPS AROUND THE LOW THAT WILL BE
MOVING UP THROUGH THE GREAT LAKES. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN COOL
THROUGH TUESDAY BEFORE SLOWLY MODERATING BACK CLOSER TO NORMAL THE
REST OF THE WEEK.
