...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 06/22/15 TORNADO EVENT...
...TORNADO WEST OF ST PETER IN NICOLLET COUNTY...

.OVERVIEW...A BRIEF TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN AND MOVED ACROSS
FIELDS AND A FEW FARMSTEADS SEVERAL MILES WEST OF ST PETER.
DOZENS OF TREES WERE KNOCKED OVER OR LARGE BRANCHES WERE BROKEN.
DAMAGE AT THE FARMSTEADS WAS VERY MINIMAL. THE TORNADO WAS
ACCOMPANIED BY A STRONG REAR FLANK DOWNDRAFT...WHICH KNOCKED
DOWN TREES AND LARGE BRANCHES JUST TO THE EAST OF THE TORNADO.
THIS WAS THE ONLY TORNADO OF THE MORNING IN SOUTH CENTRAL
MINNESOTA. ALL OTHER DAMAGE WAS FROM DOWNBURST WINDS OR
NON-THUNDERSTORM WINDS.
