URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...WINTRY MIX ON THE WAY FOR TODAY...

.RAIN WILL SPREAD INTO MINNESOTA THIS MORNING AND CHANGE TO
FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET DURING THE LATE MORNING IN THE
WILLMAR...MONTEVIDEO... CANBY...AND REDWOOD FALLS AREAS. ICE
ACCUMULATION OF ONE TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE BY THIS
AFTERNOON. THIS MAY RESULT IN VERY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
THE FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL MINNESOTA...AS
WELL AS LOCATIONS TO THE WEST OF THE TWIN CITIES DURING THE LATE
AFTERNOON. THESE AREAS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO HAVE AS MUCH ICE
ACCUMULATION. BY THE LATE AFTERNOON...THE WINTRY MIX WILL CHANGE
TO SNOW ACROSS WESTERN MINNESOTA AND PROGRESS EASTWARD DURING THE
EVENING. SNOW AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. IN
ADDITION...NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TODAY WITH SPEEDS FROM 20
TO 30 MPH AND GUSTS TO 40 MPH. THIS MAY RESULT IN ISOLATED POWER
OUTAGES IN AREAS WITH ICE ACCUMULATION.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT TODAY AND TONIGHT FOR
AREAS OF MINNESOTA ALONG AND WEST OF A LINE FROM LITTLE FALLS TO
ST JAMES. A WINTER STORM WARNING COVERS A SMALL AREA FROM WILLMAR
TO REDWOOD FALLS AS WELL AS MONTEVIDEO AND CANBY.
