Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.09 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2024 Start Time: 10:26 AM EDT Start Location: 6 E Lake Vesuvius / Lawrence County / OH Start Lat/Lon: 38.5989 / -82.5055 End Date: 04/02/2024 End Time: 10:27 AM EDT End Location: 7 E Lake Vesuvius / Lawrence County / OH End Lat/Lon: 38.6053 / -82.4875 Survey Summary: An EF1 tornado began near Aid-Oak Ridge Rd and traveled northeastward through mostly pastureland, knocking down a few trees on the north edge of the path and where it crossed Symmes Creek. The tornado continued northeast, blowing the roof off of two homes and another structure and rolling a travel trailer near where it crossed State Route 141. The last noted damage was some tin panels blown up on a barn roof shortly after the tornado crossed State Route 141. An EMS employee stationed at the nearby Lawrence County EMS Station 5 witnessed the tornado as it traveled across the field in front of the station. Some minor wind damage, not likely associated with the tornado, occurred at the Symmes Valley High School. Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 115 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.87 miles Path Width /maximum/: 325 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2024 Start Time: 08:47 PM EDT Start Location: 5 WNW Jackson / Jackson County / OH Start Lat/Lon: 39.0917 / -82.7198 End Date: 04/02/2024 End Time: 08:50 PM EDT End Location: 4 WSW Coalton / Jackson County / OH End Lat/Lon: 39.1048 / -82.6902 Survey Summary: The tornado began along Erwin Hollow Rd where several hardwood trees were snapped and uprooted. The tornado then moved northeast over a thick forest of mixed pine and hardwood trees between Erwin Hollow Rd and Roberts Rd where drone footage shows an extensive area of leveled hardwood trees and EF2 intensity was obtained. The drone footage and ground surveys then show that the tornado weakened and the path became intermittent as it crossed Roberts Road, where a house was damaged when a tree feel on it. The last damage was noted along Oakland Road where several large pine trees were uprooted or snapped.
