2017 ENDED UP BEING WARMER THAN NORMAL (TIED WITH THE 16TH WARMEST
OF ALL TIME). BUT THE YEAR WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE DRIEST ON RECORD
WITH JUST 6.64 INCHES OF LIQUID PRECIPITATION, FINISHING A TENTH OF
AN INCH LOWER THAN THE PREVIOUS RECORD (SET IN 1984). NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR THE YEAR WOULD BE 11.66 INCHES.

AFTER A COLDER THAN NORMAL JANUARY, IT WAS WARMER THAN NORMAL FROM
FEBRUARY THROUGH JULY. FEBRUARY WAS ANONAMOUSLY THE WARMEST MONTH.
THE MONTH`S REMAINING IN THE YEAR WERE WITHIN A DEGREE OF NORMAL.

THE RECORD DRY PERIOD BEGAN EARLY IN THE GROWING SEASON WITH MAY,
JUNE, JULY SEEING DEPARTURES GREATER THAN AN INCH. JUNE WAS THE
DRIEST OF THE THREE, RECEIVING ONLY 0.14 INCHES, AND WAS THE THIRD
DRIEST JUNE OF ALL TIME. THE JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST PERIOD WAS THE
DRIEST OF ALL TIME.
