A COOL AND WET MAY OCCURRED AT THE GRAND FORKS UNIVERSITY
STATION. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR MAY WAS 54.0 DEGREES AND WAS
SLIGHTLY COOLER THAN NORMAL BY 1.8 DEGREES. THE MONTHLY
PRECIPITATION TOTAL WAS 4.35 INCHES AND WAS 1.60 INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL.

RECORD FOR THE MONTH INCLUDED A RECORD LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 42
DEGREES ON THE 18 TH. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 44 DEGREES SET IN
1968.
