...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS THROUGH 7 PM
SUNDAY...

.A STRONG UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF HEAVY RAINFALL THIS MORNING
MAINLY WEST OF THE I-35 CORRIDOR BEFORE EXPANDING TO THE ENTIRE
AREA LATER TODAY. A LARGER BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF MORE
HEAVY RAINFALL WILL ENTER SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS BY EARLY SATURDAY
EVENING BEGINNING ACROSS THE WESTERN COUNTIES...MOVING EAST. THIS
ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE I-35 CORRIDOR INCLUDING AUSTIN
AND SAN ANTONIO AROUND MIDNIGHT. THEN HEAVY RAINFALL WILL PERSIST
THROUGH MUCH OF SUNDAY MAINLY ACROSS THE EASTERN COUNTIES.
RAINFALL TOTALS ARE FORECAST TO RANGE FROM 1 TO 4 INCHES WITH
ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF 6 INCHES OR MORE POSSIBLE.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  AREAS...ATASCOSA...BANDERA...BASTROP...BEXAR...BLANCO...
  BURNET...CALDWELL...COMAL...DE WITT...DIMMIT...EDWARDS...
  FAYETTE...FRIO...GILLESPIE...GONZALES...GUADALUPE...HAYS...
  KARNES...KENDALL...KERR...KINNEY...LAVACA...LEE...LLANO...
  MAVERICK...MEDINA...REAL...TRAVIS...UVALDE...VAL VERDE...
  WILLIAMSON...WILSON AND ZAVALA.

* THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING

* PERSISTENT THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF HEAVY RAINFALL ARE EXPECTED
  TO DEVELOP AND SLOWLY MOVE THROUGH THE AREA. RAINFALL TOTALS OF
  1-4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED...WITH ISOLATED 6 INCH AMOUNTS
  POSSIBLE.

* DUE TO THE VERY MOIST CONDITIONS OF THE GROUNDS AND SOILS IN
  THE AREA...RAPID FLASH FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND
  SOME ROADWAYS WILL BE POSSIBLE WHERE HEAVY RAINS DEVELOP. AREA
  RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE ALSO ELEVATED. SOME OF THESE RIVERS AND
  STREAMS MAY REACH THEIR FLOOD STAGES VERY QUICKLY.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN OR NEAR
THE WATCH AREA. IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH AREA...PLAN NOW FOR WHAT
YOU WILL DO IF FLASH FLOODING DEVELOPS. STAY INFORMED AND BE
READY TO ACT IF YOU SEE FLOODING OR IF A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS
ISSUED.

DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLOODED ROADWAYS. THE MAJORITY OF FLOOD RELATED
FATALITIES OCCUR IN VEHICLES. IF YOU SEE A FLOODED ROADWAY...
