...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has expanded the

* Flood Watch to include portions of central Illinois and east
central Illinois, including the following areas, in central
Illinois, Shelby. In east central Illinois, Coles and Edgar.

* Through this evening

* Rain will continue through Saturday evening. The rain may be
heavy at times, especially on Saturday afternoon. Around 2
inches of rain are expected through Saturday evening, though
some locally higher totals are possible in thunderstorms.

* This area has received up to 2 inches of rain so far this
week, and the ground is saturated. Much of the rain will be
unable to be absorbed into the soil, resulting in flooding of
low lying areas, and near ditches and streams. Flooding along
area rivers will be enhanced with this additional runoff.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
