...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CDT FOR
EASTERN DALLAS COUNTY...

At 842 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain were moving out of eastern Dallas County. However, 1 to nearly
3 inches of rain that has already fallen across the eastern Dallas
County. Runoff from this rainfall will cause flash flooding. Low-
lying areas are most vulnerable to rapidly rising water. Some low-
water crossings may flood and become impassable.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Richardson, Rowlett, Desoto, Wylie,
Lancaster, Balch Springs, Sachse, Hutchins, Sunnyvale and Wilmer.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
