...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A FLOOD
WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN...

  SAGINAW RIVER

.RAIN FALL AMOUNTS OVER THE WEEKEND OF 2 TO 3 INCHES FELL ACROSS
THE SAGINAW RIVER BASIN.  THIS WILL CAUSE A SIGNIFICANT RISE TO
ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.  THE RIVER IS CURRENTLY NOT TRENDING UP FAST
DUE TO STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS HELPING PUSH THE WATER INTO SAGINAW
BAY.  WHEN THE WINDS BECOME MORE NORTHERLY THIS AFTERNOON THE
RIVER WILL BEGIN TO RISE QUICKER.

  THE SAGINAW RIVER AT SAGINAW.
* FROM NOW UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
* AT 10 AM MONDAY THE STAGE IS 14.1 FEET AND RISING.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 17.0 FEET.
* MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST IS TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE BY TUESDAY MORNING...
  AND CREST AROUND 19.3 FEET WEDNESDAY EVENING.
* FLOOD HISTORY...THIS CREST COMPARES TO A PREVIOUS CREST
  OF 20.1 FEET ON APR 30 2011.
