FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
404 AM EDT SAT APR 30 2016

...ONE MORE DRY DAY BEFORE RAIN DEVELOPS SUNDAY INTO MONDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
FRIDAY SAW AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES ACROSS THE AREA LOWER
INTO THE 20 PERCENT RANGE. TODAY SHOULD BE VERY SIMILAR WITH AFTERNOON
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES BACK DOWN IN THE 20 PERCENT RANGE. THERE MAY
EVEN BE A FEW SPOTS IN EASTERN VERMONT THAT DROP INTO THE UPPER
TEENS. WINDS WILL NOT BE A CONCERN WITH WINDS GENERALLY REMAINING
UNDER 10 MPH. CONDITIONS CHANGE TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY AS DEEPER
MOISTURE MOVES INTO THE REGION FROM THE SOUTHWEST. THIS WILL ALLOW
FOR RAIN TO BECOME WIDESPREAD OVER THE AREA ON SUNDAY. THERE WILL
BE A BRIEF BREAK IN THE PRECIPITATION SUNDAY NIGHT...BUT THEN AN
UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA
MONDAY AND MONDAY BRINGING ANOTHER ROUND OF WIDESPREAD RAIN TO ALL
OF NORTHERN NEW YORK AND VERMONT. FROM SUNDAY INTO MONDAY WE ARE
LOOKING AT TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN THE QUARTER TO THREE QUARTER
INCH RANGE. IN THE LONGER RANGE...NO FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS ARE
ANTICIPATED WITH AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES REMAINING ABOVE 30
PERCENT AND MORE RAIN ANTICIPATED IN THE WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
TIME PERIOD.
