Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
251 PM EST Wed Dec 13 2017

.DISCUSSION...A cold and dry airmass will remain across our
region with broad low pressure troughing over the eastern U.S.
An increasing pressure gradient between a low to the north
and high pressure to the south will lead to increasing southwest
winds this afternoon and tonight. It appears that the wind will
prevent a significant inversion from developing tonight, with
good dispersion expected. Temperatures will warm Thursday, but
low-level moisture will also increase as a surface pressure
trough crosses the area. Minimum RH should be between 30 and
40 percent. High pressure will return Friday.
