Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
600 AM EST Wed Feb 21 2018

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will remain anchored off the coast
of the Carolinas and Georgia through Thursday, with persistent
unseasonably mild and moist air over the region.

Morning fog across the eastern Midlands will dissipate around 10 am.
Surface winds at daybreak today will be southerly 5 to 10 mph
across the western Midlands and CSRA...and light southeast
across the eastern Midlands. By midday winds will be southerly
5 to 10 mph area-wide. Transport winds will become south-southwest
around 15 mph from late morning on. Afternoon relative
humidities will drop into the 50 to 55 percent range.

The nighttime inversion will develop around 7 PM this evening,
and persist through about 9 AM Thursday. Low-level moisture from the
Atlantic coastal waters will support increasing cloudiness
overnight, with at least patchy fog developing.
