Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
300 PM EDT Wed Jun 28 2017

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will move offshore tonight allowing moisture
to increase on Thursday. Upper level energy will cross the forecast area
Thursday afternoon and evening. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will
spread north from the CSRA into the south-central Midlands, and persist
after nightfall.

A weak pressure gradient will support poor dispersion this evening into
early Thursday morning. Even though good radiational cooling will occur,
low-level moisture will be insufficient to support fog.

Surface winds Thursday will be from the east-southeast less than 5 mph
after daybreak, then become southeast 5 to 10 mph by afternoon.
Transport winds will be similar in direction, at speeds of 10 to 15 mph
by afternoon. Relative humidities will drop into the 40 to 50 percent
range.
