FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN KENTUCKY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
529 AM EDT TUE OCT 21 2014

.DISCUSSION...A COLD FRONT WILL EXIT EASTERN KY DURING THE EARLY
MORNING HOURS TODAY. BEHIND THIS FRONT...EXPECT NW FLOW AND COOLER
TEMPERATURES. HOWEVER...A STRONG LOW LOCATED TO OUR NE /OVER THE MID-
ATLANTIC STATES/ WILL ALLOW FOR WRAP AROUND MOISTURE TO FLOW BACK
INTO EASTERN KY. THIS MOISTURE...IN CONJUNCTION WITH NW WINDS...WILL
PRODUCE CHANCES OF LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS OVER THE UPSLOPING AREAS OF
FAR EASTERN KY THROUGH TONIGHT...AS WELL AS CLOUD COVER ACROSS MUCH
OF THE REGION. AS THE LOW SLOWLY MOVES EASTWARD...THE WRAP AROUND
MOISTURE WILL FINALLY BEGIN TO MOVE OUT OF EASTERN KY...WITH CLEARING
SKIES EXPECTED TO ENSUE AS WE HEAD INTO LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
WEDNESDAY EVENING. WINDS WILL BE A LITTLE ON THE BREEZY SIDE DUE TO
THE STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENTS BETWEEN THE EXITING LOW AND INCOMING
HIGH PRESSURE...BUT SHOULD GENERALLY REMAIN BELOW 15 MPH WITH
HIGHEST WINDS EXPECTED DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS.
