FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS AREA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
315 PM CDT MON MAY 30 2016

.DISCUSSION...
UNSETTLED WEATHER WILL PERSIST OVER WEST TEXAS THROUGH MUCH OF THE
WEEK WITH PERIODIC THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS THE AREA. A FEW OF
THESE STORMS COULD BE STRONG TO SEVERE AND PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL, STARTING AS EARLY AS THIS EVENING. A COLD FRONT MAY
FURTHER ENHANCE THUNDERSTORM CHANCES/COVERAGE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO
WEDNESDAY, WHILE ALSO BRINGING IN COOLER AIR BY MID-WEEK. HIGHS BY
WEDNESDAY MAY NOT MAKE IT OUT OF THE 70S FOR MOST SPOTS. OUTSIDE
OF THUNDERSTORM INFLUENCES, SOUTHERLY BREEZES WILL PREVAIL THROUGH
TUESDAY BEFORE WINDS SWING AROUND TO A NORTHERLY TO EASTERLY
COMPONENT BEHIND THE COLD FRONT WEDNESDAY.
