FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
230 PM PDT MON SEP 22 2014

...PRECIPITATION POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING...
...MUCH WETTER SYSTEM TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A WEAK WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
REGION LATE TONIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING. EXPECT SOME PRECIPITATION
WITH THIS SYSTEM...BUT AMOUNTS SHOULD BE RATHER LIGHT. A MUCH
STRONGER SYSTEM MOVES IN LATE TUESDAY NIGHT OR WEDNESDAY...FOLLOWED
BY A COOL UPPER LEVEL TROUGH.

.DISCUSSION...A WEAK SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE AREA THIS
EVENING AND TONIGHT. MOST AREAS FROM THE COAST RANGE AND WILLAPA
HILLS WESTWARD SHOULD RECEIVE SOME PRECIPITATION OVERNIGHT...BUT
WETTING RAIN IS NOT EXPECTED. A STRONGER SYSTEM MOVES IN TUESDAY...
WHICH WILL BRING RAINFALL TO NEARLY ALL OF THE FORECAST AREA. THE
LANE COUNTY CASCADES MAY NOT SEE MUCH PRECIPITATION UNTIL TUESDAY
NIGHT OR WEDNESDAY MORNING. WIDESPREAD WETTING RAIN IS EXPECTED
WEDNESDAY. A COLD UPPER LEVEL TROUGH SETTLES OVER THE PACIFIC
NORTHWEST THURSDAY AND FRIDAY... WHICH COULD DROP SNOW LEVELS TO
NEAR 6000 FEET. THE LONGER RANGE HAS BECOME A BIT MORE MUDDLED. SOME
MODELS ARE NOW MAINTAINING AN UNSETTLED PATTERN FOR THE WEEKEND.
