Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
312 PM MST Sun Dec 10 2017

...A Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and
dry fuels has been issued from 10 AM until 5 PM Monday for fire
weather zones 234, 236, and 237, which includes Kiowa, Prowers and
Baca counties...

.Discussion...

Critical fire weather conditions will return to the far southeast
plains by Monday afternoon as gusty winds and low relative humidity
values combine with dry fuels to create conditions favorable for
rapid rates of fire spread.

Dry and unseasonably warm weather will continue through the week.
Day time humidity values will still be low. Increasing winds on
Wednesday and again on Friday may bring critical to near critical
fire weather conditions back to portions of the plains. The mountains
could see some spotty snow showers by this weekend but the plains
look to remain dry.

Afternoon smoke dispersions will rise into the fair to good category
for most of the area on Monday though the San Luis Valley and
portions of the I-25 corridor could stay in the poor category due to
light winds. The far east plains will see very good dispersions where
winds are stronger. Afternoon dispersions on Tuesday will be similar
but limited to fair to good across the plains due to lighter winds.
