THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OFFSHORE AND
NEAR THE COAST. SOME STRONGER STORMS MAY PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL WITH RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES AN HOUR. THIS MAY
LEAD TO STREET FLOODING...FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS AND IN POOR
DRAINAGE AREAS. THUNDRSTORM ACTIVITY MAY INCREASE TONIGHT INTO
SATURDAY MORNING AND THE POTENTIAL FOR MORE WIDE SPREAD FLOODING.
WE WILL BE MONITORING PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS FOR A POSSIBLE FLOOD
WATCH STARTING TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.

GUSTY WINDS...ELEVATEDS SEAS...AND TIDE LEVELS ABOUT 1 FOOT ABOVE
NORMAL WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. DUE TO
STRONG SOUTHEAST WINDS...RIP CURRENTS WILL BE POSSIBLE. THOSE
HEADED TO THE BEACH SHOULD SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD AND AWAY FROM
JETTIES AND PIERS WHERE RIP CURRENTS WILL BE STRONGER. ALSO DO NOT
SWIM ALONG THE ENDS OF GALVESTON ISLAND...THE SHIP CHANNEL
ENTRANCE AND SAN LUIS PASS WHERE TIDAL CURRENTS ARE ALWAYS
DANGEROUS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

MORE NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED SATURDAY MORNING
WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF RAINBANDS AND TRAINING OF STORMS OVER THE
SAME AREA. AREAS ALONG THE COAST AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 45 MAY SEE
1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS. THESE
HIGHER AMOUNTS COULD LEAD TO FLOODING DEPENDING UPON HOW MUCH RAIN
FELL ACROSS THE AREA ON FRIDAY. A FLOOD WATCH MAY BE NEEDED SHOULD
RAIN RATES BECOME HIGHER THAN EXPECTED.

THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY SHOULD BE LESS SUNDAY INTO MONDAY BUT STILL
A CHANCE FOR LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL ON SUNDAY. THUNDERSTORM
CHANCES DECREASE MORE EARLY NEXT WEEK AS UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE
BUILDS OVER THE AREA.

GUSTY WINDS...ELEVATEDS SEAS...AND TIDE LEVELS ABOUT 1 FOOT ABOVE
NORMAL WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. DUE TO
STRONG SOUTHEAST WINDS...RIP CURRENTS WILL BE POSSIBLE.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
