A MARINE WEATHER STATEMENT HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS...
NEARSHORE AND OPEN WATERS FROM AVON POINT OH TO RIPLEY NY...

AT 322 AM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE CLUSTER OF
THUNDERSTORMS...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WINDS UP TO 30 KNOTS. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF LAKE ERIE THROUGH
5 AM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 40 KNOTS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MARINERS CAN EXPECT GUSTY WINDS UP TO 30 KNOTS...LOCALLY HIGHER
WAVES...AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES. BOATERS SHOULD SEEK SAFE
HARBOR IMMEDIATELY UNTIL THESE STORMS PASS.

INTENSE LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS. IF CAUGHT ON THE
OPEN WATER STAY BELOW DECK IF POSSIBLE...KEEP AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED
METAL OBJECTS.
