A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
4 PM PST THURSDAY.

* EAST METRO AND IN THE WEST HILLS: EAST WINDS 30 TO 40 MPH WITH
  GUSTS TO 55 MPH.

* ELSEWHERE IN THE METRO AREA: EAST WINDS 20 TO 25 MPH WITH
  GUSTS 35 TO 45 MPH.

* TIMING: INCREASING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUING THROUGH
  THURSDAY. STRONGEST WINDS LIKELY TO BE THURSDAY MORNING.

* WIND CHILL: MAINLY IN THE TEENS AND 20S...THOUGH LOCALLY AS
  LOW AS 5 TO 10 DEGREES EAST METRO AND IN THE WEST HILLS.

* IMPACTS: THE STRONGEST EAST WIND EVENT SO FAR THIS SEASON...
  COMBINED WITH EXPECTED SNOW AND ICE THURSDAY...WILL LIKELY
  CAUSE SOME TREE DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES. THE WINDS MAY MAKE
  TRAVEL DIFFICULT AT TIMES...PARTICULARLY ON NORTH-SOUTH
  BRIDGES SUCH AS THE INTERSTATE BRIDGE ALONG INTERSTATE 5 AND
  THE GLENN JACKSON BRIDGE ALONG INTERSTATE 205.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE
31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 45 AND 57 MPH. WINDS OF
THESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRA
PRECAUTIONS. MOTORISTS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE
CAUTION UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE.
