...Near Seasonal Averages For May 2017...

Weak cold fronts continued to push into South Texas during
the month of May, but as we continue to reach into the summer
months, temperatures behind the fronts made little, if only,
brief impacts. Despite a few days of temperatures reaching
into the upper 90s, and even near 100 across the Brush Country,
and nights of cool temperatures briefly dipping into the 50s,
the overall monthly averages remained closely to near seasonal
averages. These fronts, in addition to other weather disturbances,
did bring multiple rounds of much needed rainfall to the region.
Storms hit more across the western two-thirds of South Texas,
leading to above normal rainfall toward the Laredo Climate
Site and the near normal rainfall toward the Corpus Christi
Climate site. Victoria received below normal rainfall for
the month of May.
