..ELEVATED THREAT OF ERRATIC FIRE BEHAVIOR FOR MOST OF DEEP
SOUTH TEXAS TODAY...

THERE IS AN ELEVATED THREAT OF ERRATIC FIRE BEHAVIOR BEGINNING
AROUND 1 PM AND CONTINUING THROUGH 6 PM. THERE IS ALSO A THREAT
FOR ENHANCED WILDFIRE GROWTH AND RAPID SPREAD POTENTIAL.

FUELS IN THE AFFECTED AREA ARE CURRENTLY RATED AS DRY.
FURTHERMORE...A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER SOUTH TEXAS
WILL KEEP DRY AIR AND OPPRESSIVE TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REGION.
BY MID-DAY RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES WILL DROP TO THE UPPER TEENS
TO MID 20 PERCENT RANGE ACROSS MUCH OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS. IN
ADDITION...20-FOOT WIND SPEEDS WILL BE IN THE 10 TO 15 MPH RANGE
ALTHOUGH HIGHER NEAR COASTAL AREAS. EXTREME CAUTION IS URGED IF
BURNING TO TODAY.

THE THREAT WILL DIMINISH THIS EVENING AS WIND SPEEDS DECREASE
AND TEMPERATURES BEGIN TO COOL ALLOWING RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES
TO RECOVER.
