...CRITICAL FIRE DANGER RISK TODAY ACROSS THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS
BRUSH COUNTRY AND WESTERN COASTAL PLAINS...

.Moderate to strong Northwest wind with frequent gusts, along with
critically low relative humidity values are expected across the
western portions of South Texas this afternoon. Winds are expected
to decrease to below Red Flag Warning criteria by late afternoon,
although humidity will remain quite low.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CDT
THIS EVENING FOR THE BRUSH COUNTRY AND WESTERN COASTAL PLAINS...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Red
Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 6 PM
CDT this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...La Salle...McMullen...Live Oak...Webb...
  Duval...Jim Wells.

* TIMING...11 AM CDT to 6 PM CDT.

* WIND...Northwest 20 to 25 MPH with gusts around 30 MPH.

* HUMIDITY...10 TO 20 percent.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior. Residents are urged to
exercise care with respect to all outdoor activities that could
inadvertently cause wildfires. Report wildfires quickly to the
nearest fire department or law enforcement office.
