DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
1158 AM EDT WED MAY 27 2015

...All river forecast points will remain well below flood stage...

Locally heavy showers accompanied thunderstorm activity in the
late afternoon and evening yesterday...producing rainfall amounts
exceeding two inches. The areas affected were generally west of a
line from Augusta up to Columbia. The rainfall was not widespread
enough to significantly impact river basins.

A moist southerly low-level flow...combined with atmospheric
instability from afternoon heating and weak shortwave energy...
will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and
early evening.

Locally heavy rainfall is possible due to prevailing slow atmospheric
motion and rather high moisture content. However...area river levels
are not expected to rise significantly through the end of the week.
