...RISING RIVER LEVELS EXPECTED ON INTERIOR STREAMS AND RIVERS...

WIDESPREAD RAINFALL RANGING FROM ONE HALF INCH TO NEARLY TWO
INCHES HAS FALLEN ACROSS THE CENTRAL INTERIOR DURING THE PAST 48
HOURS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL UP TO ONE HALF AN INCH IS POSSIBLE
NORTH AND EAST OF FAIRBANKS BEFORE THE RAIN TAPERS OFF TONIGHT.
RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE RISING IN RESPONSE TO RUNOFF FROM THE
RAINFALL AND MELTING SNOW AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SOME STREAMS AND
RIVERS MAY RISE CLOSE TO BANKFULL LEVELS TONIGHT AND TUESDAY BUT
ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FLOOD STAGE.
