...BREAK HAS OCCURRED UP AT CIRCLE AND AT BETTLES...

THE YUKON RIVER ICE BROKE UP AT CIRCLE AT 855 PM ON FRIDAY APRIL
29. THE BREAK UP FRONT IS NOW BETWEEN CIRCLE AND FORT YUKON AND
EXPECTED TO MOVE PAST FORT YUKON IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. THE RIVER
ICE AT FORT YUKON IS REPORTED TO BE VERY WEAK AND THE POTENTIAL OF
FLOODING IS RATED AS LOW.

THE KOYUKUK RIVER AT BETTLES BROKE UP TODAY AT 608 PM. WATER ROSE
JUST AFTER BREAK UP...BUT HAS FALLEN WELL BELOW ITS BANK BY 715 PM.
THE BREAK UP FRONT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE DOWNSTREAM TO ALLAKAKET
OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. THE RISK OF FLOODING AT ALLAKAKET IS
RATED AS LOW.
