...VERY WARM TO HOT INLAND TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TODAY THROUGH
THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK....

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING OVER THE REGION WILL RESULT IN A CONTINUED
WARMING TREND THROUGH MIDWEEK. THE WARMEST DAYS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY...ESPECIALLY OVER INLAND AREAS. DURING
THESE THREE DAYS...WIDESPREAD HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 90S ARE
FORECAST FOR INLAND AREAS...WITH THE WARMEST INTERIOR VALLEYS
EXPECTED TO REACH OR EXCEED 100 DEGREES. COASTAL AREAS WILL
EXPERIENCE MUCH WARMER CONDITIONS AS WELL...ALTHOUGH AN EXPECTED
WEAK AFTERNOON SEA BREEZE EACH DAY SHOULD KEEP LOCATIONS CLOSE TO
THE OCEAN FROM GETTING OVERLY WARM. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN COASTAL
AREAS TODAY AND TOMORROW ARE FORECAST TO RANGE FROM THE UPPER 70S
TO MID 80S. SOME COOLING WILL LIKELY OCCUR NEAR THE COAST BY
THURSDAY...BUT VERY WARM TO HOT CONDITIONS SHOULD PERSIST INLAND
THAT DAY.

GRADUAL COOLING IS EXPECTED IN ALL AREAS LATE IN THE WEEK AND
INTO NEXT WEEKEND. HOWEVER...INCREASING SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE
MOVING UP FROM THE SOUTH LATE IN THE WEEK WILL RESULT IN SOMEWHAT
MORE MUGGY OR HUMID CONDITIONS BY FRIDAY...WHICH WILL MEAN
CONTINUED DISCOMFORT...ESPECIALLY FOR INLAND AREAS. IN ADDITION A
FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAY OCCUR OVER MONTEREY AND SAN
BENITO COUNTIES.

ANYONE WHO WILL BE WORKING OR SPENDING TIME OUTSIDE FROM TODAY THROUGH
THURSDAY SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR VERY WARM TO HOT CONDITIONS. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AN SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS ALONE
IN PARKED VEHICLES.

CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION FOR POSSIBLE
ADVISORIES OR WARNINGS RELATED TO THIS UPCOMING HEAT EVENT.
