...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO NOON AKST
SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow which is in effect
from noon Saturday to noon AKST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is
no longer in effect.

* LOCATION...From Chandalar Lake west.

* SNOW...6 to 12 inches.

* BLOWING SNOW...Reducing visibility to one half or less at
  times.

* WINDS...South winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* TIMING...Snow will develop late Saturday morning. Snow will be
  heavy at times Saturday evening into early Sunday before
  tapering off late Sunday morning. Winds will increase and
  blowing snow will develop Saturday afternoon and persist
  through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Visibility may be greatly reduced. Travel and
  outdoor activities will be difficult.

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow which is in effect
from noon Saturday to noon AKST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is
no longer in effect.

* SNOW...6 to 12 inches...heaviest over higher terrain south and
  west of Fort Yukon.

* BLOWING SNOW...Reducing visibility to one half mile at times
  over summits.

* WINDS...Southwest to around 25 with gusts to 35 mph over
  summits.

* TIMING...Snow will develop late Saturday morning. Snow will be
  heavy at times Saturday evening into early Sunday before
  tapering off late Sunday morning. Winds will increase and low
  visibility in blowing snow will develop Saturday afternoon and
  persist into Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Visibility may be greatly reduced. Travel and
  outdoor activities will be difficult.
