URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Winter storm likely Today into Tuesday morning...

.A long duration winter weather event will impact the
northeastern Nebraska panhandle and northwestern Sandhills
today through Tuesday morning. Snow will develop overnight, then
again on Monday night. By Tuesday morning, snow accumulations of 4
to 8 inches are likely with local amounts up to a foot possible
in the Pine Ridge of northern Sheridan county. Bitterly cold wind
chills are expected Tuesday morning and may range from -20 to -30
degrees.

MST/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8
  inches are expected.

* WHERE...Sheridan and Western Cherry Counties.

* WHEN...Until noon CST /11 AM MST/ Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Be
  prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times. The
  cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite
  on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches,
  with the heaviest amounts expected in northeastern Cherry
  county.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, panhandle and west central
  Nebraska.

* WHEN...From 6 PM CST /5 PM MST/ this evening to noon CST /11
  AM MST/ Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Be
  prepared for reduced visibilities at times. The cold wind
  chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on
  exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
