Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 29.9 inch high pressure ridge extending southeast
into the Upper Mississippi Valley will build to 30.0 inches
tonight. This ridge will build further to 30.1 inches as it shifts
across the Upper Great Lakes during Monday and Monday night. On
Tuesday, the ridge at 30.3 inches will extend from Hudson Bay to
the Lower Great Lakes while deep low pressure of 29.2 inches lifts
northeast across the central Plains. This low will then weaken to
29.5 inches as it tracks to Wisconsin on Wednesday. The low will
continue to weaken as it moves across Lower Michigan Wednesday
night, and on Thursday, it will become a 29.9 inch trough
extending from southern Ontario to a 29.5 inch low pressure over
far northern Ontario. Also on Thursday, a 30.2 inch high pressure
ridge will build southeast into the Plains. On Friday, the ridge
will remain nearly stationary as it builds to 30.3 inches while
the low deepens to 29.4 inches as it moves over southern Hudson
Bay.
