FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
548 AM EDT THU MAY 26 2016

...RAIN CHANCES CONTINUE THROUGH THIS WEEKEND...

.DISCUSSION...
A SERIES OF DISTURBANCES MOVING THROUGH THE MOIST AIRMASS OVER THE
REGION WILL BRING PERIODIC CHANCES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO
UPPER MICHIGAN THROUGH THIS WEEKEND. MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES EARLY TODAY
WILL GIVE WAY TO PARTIAL CLEARING. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND BE MOST
NUMEROUS OVER CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN. CONFIDENCE IN PRECIPITATION
FORECASTS IS LIMITED THROUGH THE REST OF THE FORECAST PERIOD DUE TO
UNCERTAINTY OF WHERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP AS SUBTLE UPPER LEVEL
FEATURES MOVE THROUGH THE REGION. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN ABOVE
NORMAL...ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT DUE TO THE LINGERING HIGHER DEWPOINTS.
THE WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO DRY OUT EARLY NEXT WEEK.
