FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
519 AM EDT MON JUN 1 2015

...DRY START TO THE WEEK...THEN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BECOME
POSSIBLE AROUND MID WEEK...

.DISCUSSION...A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL LEAD TO DRY CONDITIONS OVER
UPPER MICHIGAN THROUGH TUESDAY. HIGHS TODAY WILL BE 5 TO 15 DEGREES
WARMER THAN YESTERDAY...BUT STILL BE RUNNING A FEW DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. A LOW DEVELOPING IN THE NORTHERN PLAINS ON TUESDAY WILL
SLOWLY SLIDE A WEAK COLD FRONT ACROSS THE AREA ON THURSDAY. SHOWERS
AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE FRONT
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. AT THIS TIME...THE BEST
OPPORTUNITY FOR RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER A QUARTER OF AN INCH WILL BE
ACROSS WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN. BEHIND THE FRONT...CANADIAN HIGH
PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE AREA ON FRIDAY AND REMAIN THROUGH THE
START OF THE WEEKEND.
