...ELEVATED WILDFIRE POTENTIAL OVER MUCH OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL UPPER
MICHIGAN THROUGH EARLY EVENING...

A COLD FRONT CROSSING UPPER MICHIGAN HAS USHERED IN SLIGHTLY COOLER
AND MUCH DRIER AIR. RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES AROUND 35 PERCENT
COMBINED WITH GUSTY WEST TO SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH ACROSS
WESTERN AND CENTRAL UPPER MICHIGAN WILL PRODUCE ELEVATED WILDFIRE
CONDITIONS THROUGH EARLY EVENING. WHILE SOME LOCATIONS HAVE OBSERVED
APPRECIABLE RAINFALL OVER THE PAST TWO TO THREE WEEKS...MOST AREAS
HAVE HAD WELL BELOW AVERAGE PRECIPITATION. THIS WILL FURTHER ELEVATE
THE WILDFIRE DANGER.
