...BAND OF VERY HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW...

AT 430 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A BAND OF
VERY HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW OVER THE WEST HALF OF ALGER COUNTY
BETWEEN SHOT POINT IN FAR EASTERN MARQUETTE COUNTY AND AU TRAIN.
THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW STRETCHES INTO NORTHEAST DELTA COUNTY TO NEAR
GARDEN CORNERS. EXPECT THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW TO REMAIN NEARLY
STATIONARY THROUGH 6 AM AND THEN BEGIN TO SHIFT TO THE EAST.

SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE AS MUCH AS 2 TO 3 INCHES AN HOUR UNDER THIS
BAND. IN ADDITION...GUSTY WINDS UP TO 30 TO 40 MPH NEAR THE LAKE
SUPERIOR SHORE WILL CAUSE BLOWING SNOW. THE COMBINATION OF THE
FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY TO UNDER ONE QUARTER
MILE.

IF YOU MUST DRIVE EARLY THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS SNOW BAND...EXPECT
HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. THE COMMUTE ALONG M-28 BETWEEN FAR EASTERN
MARQUETTE COUNTY AND MUNISING WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED.
