...WINDY CONDITIONS EXPECTED TODAY ACROSS THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA...

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER NORTHERN ONTARIO WILL LEAD TO GUSTY
WESTERLY WINDS ACROSS THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA TODAY. WEST WINDS WILL
GUST TO 25 TO 30 MPH FOR MUCH OF THE DAY...BUT THERE WILL LIKELY BE A
PERIOD FROM LATE THIS MORNING THROUGH THE MID AFTERNOON HOURS WHERE
WINDS WILL GUST TO AROUND 40 MPH. THE HIGHEST WINDS WILL OCCUR OVER
THE HIGHER TERRAIN LOCATIONS OF KEWEENAW AND NORTHERN HOUGHTON
COUNTIES. WINDS WILL QUICKLY DIMINISH THIS EVENING AS HIGH PRESSURE
MOVES INTO THE REGION.

THESE WINDS MAY CAUSE SMALL TREE LIMBS TO BREAK AND LOOSE OBJECTS TO
BE BLOWN AROUND. IN ADDITION...DRIVING HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES MAY BE
DIFFICULT AT TIMES.
