Some moisture combined with daytime heating will result in some isolated showers and storms over the northern and western mountains before sunset this evening and tomorrow afternoon and evening. Main impact will be strong outflow winds and little in the way of wetting rainfall. A greater coverage of showers and storms arrives to northeast areas Wednesday behind a backdoor cold front. The backdoor cold front spreads south to the rest of eastern New Mexico Thursday. Widespread wetting showers and storms are expected, especially along the east slopes of the central mountain chain. Showers and storms exit east Thursday night with drier and hotter weather heading into next weekend. Critical fire weather conditions could return to western and central areas Sunday and next Monday.
