Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
245 PM EDT Wed May 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Upper ridging and high pressure will provide warm and dry
conditions once again on Thursday. The day will likely begin with
areas of low clouds and/or patchy fog which should transition to
scattered cumulus by midday. Relative humidity values will fall
into the 35 to 40 percent range in the afternoon. Light and
variable winds shift southeasterly in the evening. Moisture
increases on Friday as a storm system approaches from the west
with late day showers and thunderstorms possible, especially in
the western Midlands and CSRA. Shower and thunderstorm chances
persist into the weekend and the first part of next week.

Fog potential: Patchy fog possible.
