Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
211 AM MST Fri Apr 26 2024

.DISCUSSION...

As another weather system moves across the region today, strong
winds are expected once again, especially during the afternoon and
evening hours. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph are likely across
portions of the western districts while gusts upwards of 30-35
mph will be common elsewhere. MinRHs are expected to remain above
20% area wide, limiting the potential for critical fire weather
conditions. The chance for shower activity will exist for this
evening through early Saturday morning, with the best chances
across the higher terrain areas north and east of Phoenix.
However, the chance for wetting rains is low at around 10%. On
Saturday, winds will be lighter, with peak gusts of between 20-30
mph and MinRH values remaining above 15% area wide, thus limiting
the overall fire danger once again.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
