Today will remain mostly cloudy with southwest winds blowing 10 to 20 mph and gusting to 30 mph. Afternoon temperatures will warm into the 80s across the interior, with 70s across the south coast, Cape and islands. Showers are possible today but overall it will be a dry day. The chance for showers will continue tonight along with the southwest winds. It will be warm and muggy with temperatures only falling back into the mid 60s to low 70s. As the cold front from the west and the remnants of Cindy merge late tonight just to our southwest, there is the threat of heavy rain Saturday morning, especially across the southeast. The cold front will sweep the remnants of Cindy out to sea Saturday afternoon, afterwhich winds will begin to shift out of the west and escort drier and less humid air into the region. Highs Saturday afternoon will top out in the mid 70s to low 80s which is seasonable for this time of year. Slightly cooler temperatures are forecast for the Cape and islands where highs will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Sunday will be the pick of the weekend as it promises to be dry with afternoon temperatures warming into the upper 70s to mid 80s. Despite the expected rain, area main stem river levels will remain nearly stationary through Sunday. These forecasts include 24 hour precipitation for the period ending at 7 am today, and forecast precipitation through 7 am tomorrow. .B BOS 0623 DC201706231315 DH12/HG/DRH+24/HGIFF/DRH+30/HGIFF/ .B1 DRH+36/HGIFF/DRH+48/HGIFF :Station Flood 7 am 24-hr Forecasts :ID Name Stage Stage Change 7 am 1 pm 7 pm 7 am : Fri Sat Sat Sat Sun : :Connecticut River MNTM3:Montague 28.0: 11.9/: -1.1: 12.8/ 13.2/ 13.9/ 15.1/ NHMM3:Northampton 112.0:103.2/: -0.0: M/ M/ M/ M/ HLUM3:Holyoke Dam 9.0: 3.2/: 0.1: M/ M/ M/ M/ HLYM3:Holyoke 26.5: 9.6/: -1.2: M/ M/ M/ M/ SPGM3:Springfield 20.0: 4.0/: -1.4: 3.5/ 3.6/ 3.7/ 4.4/ TMVC3:Thompsonville 15.0: 9.6/: -0.4: 9.4/ 9.4/ 9.5/ 9.8/ HFDC3:Hartford 16.0: 5.5/: -1.0: 5.0/ 4.8/ 4.5/ 5.5/ MHDC3:Middle Haddam 7.0: 2.1/: -0.3: 1.6/ 3.0/ 1.2/ 1.8/ : :Chicopee River INDM3:Indian Orchard 12.0: 4.5/: -0.9: 5.3/ 5.3/ 5.3/ 5.3/ : :Westfield River WSFM3:Westfield 13.0: 4.3/: -0.3: 4.3/ 4.3/ 4.2/ 4.1/ : :Farmington River UNVC3:Unionville 12.0: 5.6/: -0.2: 5.7/ 5.7/ 5.7/ 5.6/ SIMC3:Simsbury 12.0: 3.3/: -0.4: 3.3/ 3.3/ 3.3/ 3.3/ TARC3:Tariffville 9.0: 2.0/: -0.2: 2.0/ 2.0/ 2.0/ 2.0/ : :Shetucket River WLMC3:Willimantic 13.0: 2.7/: -0.1: 2.7/ 2.7/ 2.7/ 2.7/ : :Blackstone River NBRM3:Northbridge 9.0: 3.4/: -0.1: M/ M/ M/ M/ WOOR1:Woonsocket 9.0: 2.1/: -0.3: 2.2/ 2.2/ 2.1/ 2.1/ : :Charles River DOVM3:Dover 5.0: 1.7/: -0.1: 1.6/ 1.6/ 1.6/ 1.6/ : :Neponset River NRWM3:Norwood 9.0: 6.2/: -0.1: 6.2/ 6.2/ 6.2/ 6.2/ : :Pawcatuck River WODR1:Wood River Jct 5.0: 2.6/: -0.0: 2.5/ 2.5/ 2.5/ 2.5/ WSTR1:Westerly 7.0: 5.0/: -0.1: 4.9/ 4.9/ 4.9/ 4.9/ : :Pawtuxet River CRAR1:Cranston 9.0: 5.2/: -0.4: M/ M/ M/ M/ : :Quinebaug River PUTC3:Putnam 9.5: 3.1/: -0.1: 3.0/ 3.0/ 3.0/ 3.0/ : :Taunton River BDGM3:Bridgewater 8.0: 4.1/: -0.1: 4.0/ 4.0/ 4.0/ 4.0/ : :Wood River HOPR1:Hope Valley 5.0: 2.7/: -0.1: 2.7/ 2.7/ 2.7/ 2.6/ : :Merrimack River LOWM3:Lowell 52.0: 44.2/: -0.3: 43.8/ 43.8/ 43.7/ 43.6/ LAWM3:Lawrence 24.0: 12.4/: -0.4: M/ M/ M/ M/ HVRM3:Haverhill 15.0: 4.4/: 0.0: 4.4/ 8.9/ 4.2/ 5.0/ : :Nashua River DNSM3:East Pepperell 8.0: 2.0/: -0.1: 1.9/ 1.9/ 1.9/ 1.9/ : :Squannacook River WGTM3:West Groton 7.0: 2.1/: -0.1: 2.1/ 2.1/ 2.1/ 2.1/ : :North Nashua River FBGM3:Fitchburg 6.5: 2.6/: -0.1: 2.6/ 2.6/ 2.6/ 2.5/ : :Concord River LCNM3:Lowell 8.0: 5.2/: -0.1: 5.1/ 5.1/ 5.1/ 5.1/ : :Spicket River MTHM3:Methuen 8.0: 3.2/: -0.2: M/ M/ M/ M/ : :Sudbury River SAXM3:Saxonville 10.0: 5.0/: -0.1: 5.1/ 5.2/ 5.1/ 4.9/ : :Assabet River MAYM3:Maynard 5.0: 2.2/: -0.2: 2.2/ 2.2/ 2.2/ 2.1/ : :Shawsheen River ANDM3:Andover 29.0: 24.4/: -0.1: 24.4/ 24.4/ 24.4/ 24.2/ WLMM3:Wilmington 7.0: 2.5/: -0.1: 2.5/ 2.5/ 2.5/ 2.5/ .END Observed river stages are courtesy of the U.S.Geological Survey, New England Division of the Army Corps of Engineers, as well as other cooperating agencies.
