000 FNUS51 KBTV 180814 FWFBTV FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND NORTHERN NEW YORK NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT 414 AM EDT SAT APR 18 2015 ...LOCALIZED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS THIS WEEKEND... .DISCUSSION... AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH DROPPING SOUTHEAST FROM ONTARIO/WESTERN QUEBEC WILL MOVE ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA TODAY PRODUCING SCATTERED SHOWERS, AND POSSIBLY A RUMBLE OF THUNDER. SHOWERS WILL BE MOST NUMEROUS ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK AND NORTHERN VERMONT, WITH MORE ISOLATED ACTIVITY ACROSS SOUTHERN VERMONT. LIGHT WINDS THIS MORNING WILL TURN BREEZY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND GUSTY WINDS MAY ACCOMPANY THE SHOWERS. RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES WILL RANGE FROM 30-40% WITH SOME ISOLATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS ACROSS SOUTHERN VERMONT WHERE FUELS ARE DRY AND LESS PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED. AS THE TROUGH EXITS THIS EVENING, A STRONG AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE REGION LATER TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY. CONDITIONS WILL BE VERY DRY ON SUNDAY WHEN RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO AROUND 20 PERCENT, BUT WINDS WILL BE RATHER LIGHT THOUGH, MAINLY FROM THE NORTHWEST AT AROUND 10 MPH. NEXT WEEK IS STILL LOOKING UNSETTLED WITH A WIDESPREAD RAIN EVENT EXPECTED MONDAY INTO TUESDAY, FOLLOWED BY A CHANCE OF SHOWERS MID-LATE WEEK.
