000 FNUS51 KBTV 190911 FWFBTV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and Northern New York National Weather Service Burlington VT 511 AM EDT Sat Aug 19 2017 ...Gradual Drying Trend Begins Today... .DISCUSSION... Over the past 24 hours the area has received anywhere from a quarter inch to one inch of rain. Drier air has begun to move into the region...but an upper level trough of low pressure is moving east from the Upper Midwest and this feature will enhance isolated showers across the area this afternoon and evening. Rainfall amounts however will generally be a tenth of an inch or less. Afternoon relative humidities will be down in the 50 percent range. The trough of low pressure moves east of the area later tonight and more dry air moves in on Sunday with increasing amounts of sunshine and afternoon relative humidities in the 40 percent range. No precipitation is expected on Sunday with high pressure building into the region and this system will continue to influence our weather on Monday with sunshine...warmer temperatures...and slightly higher humidities. At this time it looks like the next chance for showers and thunderstorms will come in the Tuesday and Tuesday night time period.
