Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico
National Weather Service Albuquerque NM
236 PM MDT Mon Apr 24 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Strong gusty winds over NM will persist into the evening hours
tonight. Chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms begin to
increase over the Four Corners region early Tuesday, with stronger
winds shifting to southern NM. Higher humidity and lower temperatures
will diminish critical fire weather concerns Tuesday as well.
Wetting precipitation shifts over the northern mountains to the
northeast plains late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with
cooler temperatures limiting the drop in humidity. It`s not out of
the question for isolated showers to reach as far south as the ABQ
metro. Drier and stronger westerly flow builds in Thursday increasing
wind speeds through central portions of NM. Dewpoints are now
expected to dip into the low to mid teens, allowing for critical fire
weather Thursday afternoon. A Pacific trough enters the region late
Friday into the weekend, bringing another round for wetting
precipitation over much of NM.
