VISIBILITIES AS LOW AS AROUND ONE HALF MILE WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF
EASTERN NEW MEXICO...ESPECIALLY AREAS EAST OF THE PECOS RIVER AND
THE FAR NORTHEAST PLAINS AND NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS. THE COMBINATION OF
POTENTIALLY ICY ROADWAYS AND POOR VISIBILITY WILL MAKE FOR A
DANGEROUS VENTURE ON SOME HIGHWAYS OVERNIGHT. THIS INCLUDES PORTIONS
OF INTERSTATE 40 EAST OF CLINES CORNERS AND INTERSTATE 25 FROM LAS
VEGAS NORTH TO RATON.

THROUGH 10 AM...BANDS OF RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW WILL
CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OVER NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO. AT
THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS...THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES OVER THE
SANGRE DE CRISTOS AND HIGHER TERRAIN AREAS FROM LOS ALAMOS...CUBA TO
CHAMA.  SNOWFALL RATES BETWEEN 1/2 AND 3/4 INCH PER HOUR ARE
GENERALLY EXPECTED...BUT ACCUMULATION LEVELS WILL CONTINUE TO RISE
WITH IMPACTS GENERALLY ABOVE 7500 FEET. OTHERWISE...THE
PRECIPITATION WILL BE MOST PERSISTENT FROM THE SANGRE DE CRISTO
MOUNTAINS WEST AND SOUTHWEST TOWARD THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE NEAR
THOREAU AND BLUEWATER LAKE.  FARTHER SOUTH...SPOTTY LIGHT
PRECIPITATION WILL BE FOUND OVER WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST NEW
MEXICO SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 40 TO THE UPPER GILA REGION.
