SURFACES ARE COMBINING TO PRODUCE AREAS OF DENSE FOG THIS MORNING
ACROSS SOUTHEAST AND SOUTH CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE AREA. DENSE
FREEZING FOG IS LIKELY FURTHER NORTHER ALONG INTERSTATE 40 BETWEEN
THE TEXAS BORDER AND ROUGHLY EDGEWOOD. EXPECT FOG TO PERSIST
THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS.

  VALLEY...CHAVES COUNTY PLAINS AND ROOSEVELT COUNTY.

* TIMING...DENSE FOG EXPANDING IN AREA THROUGH MID MORNING THEN
  DIMINISHING BY LATE MORNING.

* VISIBILITY...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BECOME DIFFICULT DUE TO
  SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITY IN DENSE FOG. THIS INCLUDES
  INTERSTATE 25 BETWEEN SOCORRO AND ALBUQUERQUE...HIGHWAY 54 AND
  380 NEAR CARRIZOZO...HIGHWAY 285 IN CHAVES COUNTY AND HIGHWAY 70
  BETWEEN ROSWELL AND PORTALES.

  SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITY IN DENSE FREEZING FOG AND A
  THIN LAYER OF ICE ON ROADS...ESPECIALLY ON OVERPASSES. THIS
  INCLUDES INTERSTATE 40 BETWEEN EDGEWOOD AND THE TEXAS BORDER.

A FREEZING FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITY WILL FREQUENTLY BE
REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. FREEZING FOG CREATES VERY
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. PEOPLE ARE ADVISED TO AVOID TRAVEL
IF POSSIBLE. IF TRAVEL IS NECESSARY...SLOW DOWN...USE YOUR LOW
BEAM HEADLIGHTS...AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU. BE
