...LOCALIZED STRONG DOWNBURST WINDS FROM PASSING SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO IMPACT AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF THE RIO GRANDE
VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON...

Just before 2pm MDT, a strong Pacific cold front was poised just
west of the Rio Grande Valley gradually moving eastward.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms developing along and ahead of
this front will deliver localized very strong, potentially
damaging wind gusts also known as downbursts. The shower activity
will generally move toward the east northeast at 15 to 25 mph.
Winds will swith to west or northwest behind the cold front.

for the latest updates on this situation.
