...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR WEST CENTRAL ROOSEVELT AND
NORTHERN CHAVES COUNTIES UNTIL 645 PM MDT...

At 618 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 16
miles southwest of Melrose, or 25 miles west of Portales, moving
south at 15 mph.

Nickel size hail and wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with
this storm.  The storm may intensify.

Locally heavy rain will also be possible with this storm.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central
Roosevelt and northern Chaves Counties.

Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on highways as storms move through the area.
