AKZ155-122000- /O.CON.PAFC.FA.A.0004.000000T0000Z-240512T2000Z/ /00000.0.IJ.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Kuskokwim Delta- Including the cities of Nunivak Island and Bethel 221 PM AKDT Fri May 10 2024 ...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING FOR THE KUSKOKWIM RIVER... * WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following area, the lower Kuskokwim River near Eek, Tuntuliak and other riverside communities. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...The Kuskokwim River is continuing to flood from Kwethluk downstream to the coastal communities. Flooding of low lying and flood prone areas along the Kuskokwim River continues to be possible. Residents should be prepared for high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - River-watch reconnaissance shows the Kuskokwim River breakup front was just upstream of Napakiak and firm ice is still in place downstream of Napakiak. Impounded water from the ice jam extends upstream as far as Kwethluk. A significant amount of water is behind the front.
