...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central Virginia, including the following
  county, Fluvanna.

* WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 621 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate rain in the
    area. Minor flooding is likely occurring in the advisory
    area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell earlier this
    evening.
  - Additional rainfall of up to an inch is possible through 8
    PM. If additional heavy rain moves back into the area, a
    Flash Flood Warning may be needed.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Central Plains, Shores, Antioch, Hardware and Cohasset.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
