THE CITY OF NORFOLK...THE CITY OF POQUOSON...THE CITY OF
CHESAPEAKE...THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH...THE CITY OF SUFFOLK...THE CITY
OF VIRGINIA BEACH...THE CITY OF HAMPTON AND THE SOUTHERN CITY OF
NEWPORT NEWS...

At 1254 AM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from near Seaford to Hampton to Portsmouth to
near Downtown Suffolk. Movement was east at 30 mph.

Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms.

Rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible with these storms.

These storms will be near...
  Downtown Portsmouth, Downtown Norfolk, Old Dominion University,
  Hampton University, Chesapeake, Ghent, Cradock, Grand View,
  Buckroe Beach and Fort Monroe around 100 AM EDT.
  Norfolk State University, Ocean View and Norview around 105 AM
  EDT.
  Virginia Wesleyan College, Regent University and Norfolk
  International around 110 AM EDT.
  Kempsville and Norfolk around 115 AM EDT.
  Virginia Beach, Cape Charles and Great Bridge around 135 AM EDT.
  Cheriton, Fentress and Bay View around 140 AM EDT.
  Princess Anne around 155 AM EDT.
  Back Bay around 200 AM EDT.

Other locations impacted by these storms include South Norfolk, Rudee
Heights, Portlock, Eastville, Huntersville, Pungo, Bayside, Wilroy,
Nurney and Cheapside.

Motorists should use extra caution in the vicinity of these storms.
Be prepared for rapid changes in weather and road conditions. Heavy
rain could cause ponding of water on roads...and possible minor
flooding of ditches and poor drainage areas.
