...UPDATE FOR PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TORNADO 9 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF
CANADIAN TX TO EF-1...

THE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TORNADO 9 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF CANADIAN
/IN FAR EASTERN ROBERTS COUNTY AND WESTERN HEMPHILL COUNTY/ HAS BEEN
CHANGED TO EF-1. THIS IS BASED ON DAMAGE WHICH OCCURRED AT TWO
HOMESTEADS...AND IS DETAILED BELOW.

PRELIMINARY REPORTS OF UP TO SIX TORNADOES ASSOCIATED WITH A LONG-
LIVED SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORM THAT TRACKED SOUTH TO SOUTHWESTWARD
ACROSS PORTIONS OF BEAVER COUNTY OKLAHOMA...LIPSCOMB AND HEMPHILL
COUNTIES IN TEXAS LATE SUNDAY REMAIN VALID. ALL OF THESE TORNADOES
WERE WEAK.

END LOCATION:  7 WEST NORTHWEST OF CANADIAN/HEMPHILL COUNTY/TX

THIS TORNADO BEGAN IN EXTREME EASTERN ROBERTS COUNTY WHERE IT PRODUCED
LIGHT DAMAGE AT A RANCH HOUSE. A BARN WAS PARTIALLY UN-ROOFED AND
NUMEROUS TREES WERE DAMAGED. THE TORNADO THEN DRIFTED EAST ACROSS THE
HEMPHILL COUNTY LINE...GENERALLY ALONG AND JUST SOUTH OF RED DEER ROAD.
IT DAMAGED A SECOND HOMESTEAD APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF
CANADIAN. A METAL AND WOOD CONSTRUCTED BARN WAS DESTROYED...WITH ALL
ROOF PANELS REMOVED AND MOST WALLS COLLAPSED. WIND ESTIMATES OF 85 TO
90 MPH WERE BASED ON DAMAGE TO THIS PARTICULAR STRUCTURE. ADDITIONAL TREE
DAMAGE ALSO OCCURRED AT THIS LOCATION. WIND BLOWN HAIL SUBSEQUENTLY BROKE
WINDOWS AT BOTH HOMES.
